RQI Partners is a partnership between the American Heart Association^® (AHA^®) and Laerdal Medical. Our mission is to increase survival from sudden cardiac arrest by helping position healthcare providers to deliver high-quality resuscitation care using innovative, modernized, digital resuscitation training solutions co-developed by the AHA and Laerdal.

We are passionate about, and dedicated to, helping save lives through delivery of resuscitation training programs, products and solutions that are grounded in evidence-based science and educational principles. Our company is committed to creating a new standard of care — shifting resuscitation practice from course completion to CPR competence and confidence to deliver high-quality CPR to every patient, every time

Our History

In 2010, the American Heart Association (AHA) updated its CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Guidelines, recommending that healthcare providers receive CPR skills training more frequently for shorter periods of time. In 2015, the AHA and Laerdal introduced Resuscitation Quality Improvement^® (RQI^®) — a program blending the AHA’s leadership in science and resuscitation education with Laerdal’s expertise in technology, simulation and implementation to deliver low-dose, high-frequency CPR training.

RQI Partners was formed in 2018 to help accelerate RQI program adoption at U.S. acute care hospitals and health systems. Today, the company’s customer roster also includes emergency medical services agencies and nursing programs at U.S. colleges and universities. Since the RQI program launch, more than 2,400 hospitals and 2 million nurses globally are using AHA and Laerdal co-developed digital resuscitation education and training programs.

Development of RQI Partners

2010

Research funded by Laerdal Medical finds three-month cycles optimal to eliminate CPR skills decay.

2013

AHA’s Education Statement recommends low-dose, high-frequency CPR skills training.

2015

AHA and Laerdal Medical develop the Resuscitation quality Improvement (RQI) training program.

2018

AHA and Laerdal Medical form RQI Partners to enhance training programs and distribute them to healthcare providers.

2025

Save Lives: By redefining the standard of learning, RQI Partners aims to save 50,000 more lives per year from cardiac arrest by 2025.
