The American Academy of Pediatrics and RQI Partners Collaboration

American Academy of Pediatrics dedicated to the health of all children

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is a distinguished 67,000-member organization dedicated to the optimal health and well-being of all infants, children, adolescents and young adults.

To further advance the efficacy of neonatal resuscitation education and training for healthcare professionals, the AAP has joined forces with RQI Partners, LLC, in a strategic alliance. This partnership marks a significant milestone with the launch of the NRP 8th Edition training program.

RQI Partners is the sole source provider of the AAP NRP 8th Edition, which features enhancements to course content, learning levels and educational delivery methods.

RQI Partners, Resuscitation Quality Improvement, An American Heart Association and Laerdal Program

RQI Partners is a dynamic collaboration and service provider between the American Heart Association (AHA), globally recognized for its evidence-based education and status as the “gold standard” in resuscitation science, and Laerdal Medical, the world leader in medical simulation and resuscitation.

The AAP NRP 8th Edition instructor-led course and the RQI for NRP program can be purchased exclusively through RQI Partners. The NRP 8th Edition textbook and related NRP printed materials may be purchased directly from the AAP at Shop.AAP.org.

RQI for NRP

RQI for NRP

The NRP 8th Edition offers the innovative RQI learning method through RQI for NRP.

Each quarter, in a low-dose, high-frequency model, cognitive and skills sessions assess learners’ recall, application and practice of the NRP algorithm, positive pressure ventilation and MR. SOPA.

Skills are performed at an RQI for NRP Simulation Station on-site at the point of care or as a service to community hospitals by the Regional Outreach Education Program. Cognitive activities feature True Adaptive learning, which adjusts to each learner’s knowledge and confidence in real time and continuously adapts the learning experience to each individual.

Instructor-led Training

Instructor-Led Training

The NRP 8th Edition offers two new levels of learning:

  • NRP Essentials, which covers lessons 1-4 of the NRP 8th Edition textbook
  • NRP Advanced, which covers lessons 1-11.

Anyone who is involved in the care of a newborn should take NRP Essentials.

NRP Advanced is appropriate for those who attend births and are responsible for newborn resuscitation, and for those who participate in neonatal resuscitation beyond positive pressure ventilation.

If you’re uncertain about the appropriate NRP level to pursue, NRP Advanced is likely the recommended choice. Completion of NRP Advanced is a prerequisite for individuals aspiring to become NRP instructors.

Once you register for the NRP LP (Learning Platform), you will receive your NRP Global ID. The NRP Global ID offers the convenience of single sign-on, allowing you to access and track all your learner activities and credentials across different organizations.
