Deliver Consistent Team-Based Care
Designed for healthcare professionals who care for newborn infants at birth, the NRP Provider course utilizes a flexible learning approach with a focus on critical leadership, communication, and team-work skills across a variety of settings —from hospitals and birthing centers to EMS organizations and more.
The NRP Provider Curriculum is divided into two parts: Part 1 includes self-paced study of the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation® and adaptive online learning, while Part 2 features an instructor-led event with hands-on practice and simulation scenarios. Once all steps are complete successfully, an eCard will be generated.

Online Learning
- Self-study the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation.
- Online Learning Assessments, featuring True Adaptive™ learning — a methodology that continuously adapts the learning experience to each individual learner.
NRP Instructor-Led Event (ILE)
- Performance Skills — provides an opportunity to practice or review technical hands-on resuscitation skills with instructor assistance.
- Integrated Skills — allows instructors to facilitate more than one scenario and evaluate the learner’s readiness for simulation and debriefing.
- Simulation and Debriefing — offer a safe environment to integrate cognitive and technical skills while emphasizing teamwork and patient safety.

Available for two skill levels, NRP Essentials and NRP Advanced, the NRP Provider course is designed to best prepare healthcare professionals to respond competently and confidently based on their level of responsibility.
- NRP Essentials Provider Course – Covers the foundational concepts of neonatal resuscitation (lessons 1-4) and is intended for anyone involved in the care of newborns.
- NRP Advanced Provider Course – Covers a more comprehensive range of topics (lessons 1–11) and is designed for those who attend births and manage neonatal resuscitations, especially in high-risk or complex situation.
Every birth should be attended by at least 1 person who can perform the initial steps of newborn resuscitation and initiate PPV, and whose only responsibility is the care of the newborn. 2
