How does a learner link their 7th Edition Information

The learner have unlimited time to complete the online course. Once they complete the course, they have 90 days to complete an ILE.

Why do I not see a Global ID for a HealthStream Learner?

If the Global ID is missing for a HealthStream learner, this means they did not complete their registration.

How does a learner register with an organization?

Even if a learner has a Global ID, they need to register with their specific organization once they have been added to the site.

  1. An email is sent once the learner's information is added to the organization's specific site.
  2. Click on the Activate Profile button in the email. This email contains the organization's name
  3. Activate Profile file by selecting if you have a Global ID or not.
  4. Verify the activate code

How do we associate an instructor with an organization site?

There are multiple ways to associate an instructor to a site.

  1. They can be linked thru the GUID that is associated to the HealthStream site and it must be in the associated to the org. The ID can be found under the Org Setting -> Details -> LMS Organization ID looks like this: e0e7354b-8ab7-df11-8fb9-001517135721
  2. LMS - use the onboarding SCORM package and have the LMS admin assign the "Onboard Organizational Instructor" assignment. Once the instructor launches the course, it will assign them.
  3. Direct - just add the instructor to the site and have them register thru the normal process
  4. HealthStream - have them link their 7th edition history. Once this is complete (can take 72 hrs), on Tuesday or Friday, a job is run that will associate them to the site. Future - HealthStream will be releasing the Onboard Organization Instructor SCORM to allow the same process in 2.

When can an Admin or Instructor modify the roster?

You can modify the roster when the event status shows Scheduled. If an event is Active or Completed, students and instructors cannot be modified. If you forgot to remove a student prior to the status changing, mark them as a No Show. This will free the learner up to be added to another event.

Why can’t I be assigned the Instructor Candidate course?

The learner must complete the Advanced Provider course giving them the Advanced Provider ranking. Also, they must apply to become an instructor. This application is available on the learner's dashboard once they have the Advanced provider ranking.

Can a learner link their 7th edition information?

Yes, you can link 7th Edition eCards and Certificates. When the learner logs into the NRP LP, they are asked if they would like to "Link to your 7th Edition account history." Have them follow the prompts to complete.

How does a learner register?

Welcome to the RQI Learning Platform! To register your account, please follow the steps below:

  1. Access the RQI Learning Platform via this link: https://nrplearningplatform.com/
  2. Click “Register Now”
  3. Register using your institution-assigned or personal email address. Please ensure that you complete the full registration process, including your i address and contact information. You will receive an email from a “no reply” address, to the email you used to register, which includes your NRP ID Number and includes a link for email verification. You are almost done! Make note of the NRP Global ID, this will be used as your user name to log in. The global Id will look like this “8AE-00xx” use the dash when logging in.
  4. Please click on the verification link, you will then be asked to create a password.
  5. Note, you have not completed registration until the password is complete, you have accepted terms and conditions and you have successfully logged into the site using your new Global ID!

If an instructor ranking is Inactive.

If their 7th Edition eCard is still valid, they will need to link their 7th Edition history to update their ranking to Active

How can I get provider status changed to instructor status?

Link to your 7th edition history as a first action. If this does not change your rank, please email your eCard and rank request to support and they will be able to change your rank.

Does an instructor need to take the instructor course AND the advanced course?

No, a current instructor needs only to complete the Instructor Renewal course to maintain status.

As Instructors, are we able to view the candidate curriculum in demo mode?

There is not currently a demo process for the NRP courses.

Am I able to finalize a student’s course individually? For example, if one finished ahead of others, can I finalize and submit that student while others are still doing their megacode?

You can grade each student individually, however you are not able to submit that grade individually. All of the students and candidates grades will be submitted at one time.

The Instructor ranking is showing as a learner ranking.

The learner did not register thru the email provided them last year to register as an instructor. If they provide a valid 7th Edition eCard, support can update their ranking.

How can I delete a learner?

A learner cannot be deleted from the front end. It needs to be escalated. Once the learner registers, they can be disabled.

How do I add a HealthStream Learner?

You do not. The Learner must launch the course from the HLC and they will follow the standard 3rd party registration process.

User cannot register with an email.

If the learner is getting an invalid email address when registering, make sure there are no spaces in front or at the end of the email. Most email addressed are allowed starting March 16th.

How long do learners have once the online assignment is assigned?

There is no time limit for completion of the online contents. Once you complete the online portion, you have 90 days to complete the skills portion.

What if I see multiple profiles?

If there are multiple profiles appearing on an organizations site (prior to the learning obtaining/registering for a Global ID) a ticket will need to be created to delete the multiple profiles.

When can you change a learners email?

The learner must register prior to changing their profile in the system. If their email is incorrect, you will have to issue a ticket to have it fixed.

When can I assign a curriculum?

To assign Essentials or Advanced Provider, the learner must register with the NRP LP. For an Instructor, they must have the Advanced Provider ranking and must have completed and approved the Instructor Candidate application. For Instructor Renewal, the ranking must be an active instructor status.

Why can't we search learners by name?

If you're adding a learner to an ILE you can search by name, the email address is just a unique identifier. Coming in the near future you will be able to add by Global ID as well.

How long does it take to get an auto-generated email from the system when a new user is entered?

Notifications should be received within a couple of minutes. In our recent release we enabled a feature that allows administrators to resend these emails.

Learners who completed the instructor led course and received their NRP e-card are having difficulty obtaining CE, CME. How can they get their education credits?

You'll find the information you need to claim your CE on the Part 1 certificate of completion, on page 2. That will include your CE information.

Still have a certain email that the system will not allow. Its says invalid email.

We are making updates in the near future to allow for special characters in the email address, but please contact support if you believe your email address should work and you're getting an error.

Is the 7th edition roster available to view?

That will be available with the update in early April.

I have an instructor whom I can see under users, but can not enter her as an instructor to an event.

Make sure the instructor has the correct rank in the platform. If they're listed as a "learner" they may not have updated their profile or linked in the platform.

How do we locate a learner without knowing what email was used for registration?

If they're not part of your organization you'll need to contact them directly and ask which email address they used to signup.

I've used my instuctor ID and last name and it doesn't let me link to my 7th Edition information.

If you're having trouble linking to your 7th Edition history you'll need to contact support for help and provide your NRP ID.

Is 7th edition event history linked as well?

7th Edition event history will be linked. In our release next month (April), all instructor event history will be available.

If I assign a course to a learner, do they receive an email that a course is assigned or do they need to watch in the NRP site to populate?

They will receive an email.

Where do I find the curriculum tab? (I'm signed in as an instructor mentor)

Only administrators have this tab. Instructors do not.

I can view my ecard but is there a way to save as PDF and download?

If you choose the download option it will download as a pdf.

How do you print a roster?

On the roster under the student tab, use select action button and the roster will download. You can print the Excel file once downloaded.

How can instructors and administrators find out how many purchased NRP courses are left (unused) on our facility account?

Under the curriculum tab within your ORG there are the amounts of licenses available and used.

I have attempted to add learners but am not able to.

All orgs can add learners except those orgs using HealthStream as their LMS. Under the user's tab, there is a blue button to add learners.

We have been teaching internationally but providers are not able to register with a foreign address.

The NRP LP is intended for use in the United States and specified countries only. We are rolling out the 8th edition internationally in a phased approach.

Are admins able to delete users with duplicate accounts?

Admins can disable, not delete. If the duplicate is affecting access please send the information to support and we will escalate for deletion.

Can an instructor remove a user from an ILE registration if they are not part of their course?

The instructor of the course would need to remove the user, or you can contact support and we can remove them. If the class is completed it will take an escalation

Can all instructors in an organization see the roster even if they are not the instructor for the specific event?

No, only the Admin and the instructor associated to the ILE will be able to see the roster.

Should you type in the "-" when entering the NRP ID?

Yes, if the learner setup their ID as their Global ID, they will need the "-".

As the instructor and administrator, am I able to print a copy of the learners card?

Yes, you will have the ability to view their eCard under the user's profile in the admin section.

How can you change your Instructor/Mentor designation to add Administrator?

Administrators can only be added by another administrator. The admin should login to their subdomain and click on Admins tab, add the new administrators name and email. They will receive a confirmation email and code.

Where do you find the ecards?

Learners can find their ecards in their profiles. Administrators can also edit and view learner's information and access their ecards.

What if a user did not claim their card on HealthStream before the expiration date?

If the user did not complete the course to earn their card in the 7th Edition before January 1st to get the card. The user would need to take the 8th Edition course to earn the card.

Are we able to remove instructors from an event without needing RQI support to do this?

This function is currently available, so if you're unable to do this please contact customer support for help. Remember, you must have at least one instructor assigned to an event, so to remove an instructor you should already have another one assigned.

Are certificates and eCards for the 7th Edition still available in HealthStream?

For the 7th Edition HealthStream customers your history is still available, nothing was deleted.

How do we renew an instructor before their expiration?

Instructors need to complete the online Instructor Renewal Course and the Teach to Instructor Led Events before the renewal date.

I have received an error when Linking 7th Edition History, do we link it again?

No, you should not try to link it again, report the error to customer service to assist.

I have not been able to find most of my students even though they have a Global ID. Please advise how we can find students not on the list.

Students can be searched by First or Last name, or email address. Keep in mind learners must have come into the organization and registered before they can be found and added to an instructor led event.

How can I have access (or privileges) to create an Event for our organization?

There are two roles that allow for you to create an Event, Administrators and Instructors. You would need to have one of those two ranks in an organization.

Why does and Current Provider have to complete 8th Edition Advanced Provider before they can be in Instructor Candidate?

The eligibility for instructors states that you must have either a current 7th edition provider card (Lessons 1-11) OR have a current NRP 8th edition Advanced provider status.

Can you print out the rosters for the instructor led events?

Currently, this function is not available. However, you can download the roster into Excel and print for that file.

My instructor status expires in June. Can i do the 8th edition instructor course prior to the expiration since I need to teach 8th edition to our residents in April?

Yes, you can do the instructor renewal curriculum at any time during your active two year time frame. If you met all your requirements for renewal early, your updated card will remain pending in the system until 60 days prior to your expiration date. You'll be renewed and then your month will stay the same. For example, you expire in June. If you complete the instructor renewal course now and have also completed the events, at the end of April, your card will be renewed to June 30 2024, so your expiration date would remain as June. Your certification would not be cut short for completing it early.

Is there an alternative to getting an instructor linked to the organization without added them as an administrator - in the event they lost their initial instructor registration email?

Please contact customer service to resend the email notification.

How do I get someone added as a new user when initial added user used a different email address?

For administrators within the NRP LP platform, getting the learners registered on the site is critical. When an admin goes into the application, search for the user under the ellipses on the right side, action item, and they will have the ability to resend the email even if the user has not yet registered.

How can I change my profile from student to instructor?

When you create a retail profile in the NRP LP it is a learner. To upgrade your rank to either provider or instructor you need to follow the link to 7th Edition, assuming you haven't taken any courses in the NRP LP. So when you link you should get your highest rank.

Where on the HLC are instructors added or removed?

In regard to adding or removing instructors from events, under Event Administration you'll be able to add or remove instructors. Please note: you need to have one instructor in each event, so if there is a single instructor, you must add an additional instructor before removing an instructor.

Is it possible to auto assign NRP 8th Edition for those who are expiring soon with the 7th Edition.

Yes, within the HLC you can use "certification-based assignments" to automatically assign the 8th Edition to anyone who has an expiring 7th Edition card.

What if students don't link their HealthStream ID? Is there a workaround? Is there somewhere we can find detailed instructions on both adding 7th edition and 8th edition cards completed externally?

The single piece of identifying information in the 7th Edition is the NRP ID. If a learner does not have that they can look it up in the UI there is a link to HealthStream to login. If that does not work you'll need to submit a ticket.

When will we be able to sort events on the events page? Right now, they're listed by the date they're entered and you're not able to sort them by scheduled date.

This is an instructor and administrator view. This is an enhancement we have planned for the next couple of releases.

We have several employees with outstanding NRP 8th edition assignments, some of the employees assignments have been completed and gone to the transcript. Is there a 'click' or process that some have missed that is making the assignment stay on?

The required components to complete a course is part one (cognitive), the survey and the instructor led event. Once those are complete the learner will receive their e-card.

When the student registers and they do not enter any search parameters, do they pull up all events (even the events that are set to outside organization)? If so, is there a way to default the listing to just your own organization's events?

Currently this is not available.

For an instructor led event search, are there filters were they can choose region, state, city, dates, etc to narrow down the search?

When a learner is looking for an instructor led event they can search by city or state.

Does any licensed RN or RT get CEU's for the NRP Curriculum regardless of whether it's their Initial Certification or Renewal?

We do provide CEU credit for the providers for part one and then also for instructors for doing the online renewal. It doesn't matter if it's your first time or not, you should receive credit.

I am not able to resend the "invite" auto generated email, how do I do this?

The platform is unable to resend auto generated invite emails to learners.

We purchased our RQI licenses through RQI in the fall. How do we ensure those are what we are assigning through HealthStream?

Please send an email to customer.service@healthstream.com and they will send you a review of what licenses you have.

Is there a way to print a report that says how many keys have been used and how many are left? Who it has been assigned to?

In the curriculum screen and Org Admin can see the number of traditional licenses left as well as purchased licenses.

Does an instructor need to teach 4 classes before becoming an instructor and is this done automatically?

Yes, an instructor must teach 4 ILE events to obtain "instructor-mentor" status. Upon teaching four ILE events, you will automatically receive instructor-mentor status.

To be an instructor-mentor, are four 8th edition classes or four classes (7th or 8th) required?

An instructor must have taught a total of four ILE events, this can include 7th and 8th edition courses.

So how does a new instructor who uses a 3rd party LMS for access, who currently has a 7th edition provider card, register on the NRP LP if there are no courses assigned to her to do that? Cannot give her the New instructor course until she completes the application.

Users have two options. One: Administrators can onboard an instructor and associate them to your organization. The LMS administratior would have that SCORN package available to them to make an onboarding assignment to pull in the instructor and associate them to your organization. Two: If that instructor is associated to your organization, they link their 7th edition and become associated to that organization and LP. A prerequisite for that process is that the instructor needs to have an association with that organization in 7th edition. From December 31 prior, this method would be used to allow them to be associated to that course.

Can you have less than 4 learners in an ILE?

Yes, however with only two or three students you are not able to run a full code. You are able to run an "Essentials" course with two people, as you can insert a laryngeal mask with two participants. Hosting an "Advanced" course with fewer than three learners is not recommended.

I want to add an instructor to my ILE, but I can't find then by their first name, last name, or email.

The learner may not be registered in the NRP LP as an instructor or they registered with an email address that is not associated to the instructor ranking. Confirm that the user has instructor ranking in the NRP LP platform and verify what email they registered with.

I thought that a 7th edition card allows for Instructor Candidate approval.

Having a current 7th edition card or current NRP Advanced provider status is one component of instructor candidate eligibility. That one component allows you to apply for instructor candidate status.

How many continuing education units CEUs are given for 8th Edition Advanced?

The number of credits depends on what type of credit you are claiming. For nursing credit, you can earn 11.9 hours. For all other types of credit you can earn 12 hours. Details on CE credit are shown on the second page of the part 1 certificate.

My regional trainer Global ID expired and I lost contact with the facility that I completed my 7th Edition training with. How can I renew?

If your instructor status expired, you will have to start over as a learner. You can register a new account and take the Advanced Provider curriculum. If you are interested in becoming an instructor again, you can submit an instructor application and complete the Instructor Candidate curriculum

What's the quickest way to set up multiple live events on the calendar simultaneously like we were able to do in the Healthstream system?

You have the ability to copy events and make modifications. That will be the quickest way to create multiple ILEs.

Can people still register for NRP on HealthStream?

8th Edition NRP is hosted by RQIPartners. There is not a way for a learner to register via HealthStream. If an organization is an HLC customer, the learner can launch from the HLC and will be directed to the NRPLP for registration.

  4. HealthStream - have them link their 7th edition history. Once this is complete (can take 72 hrs), on Tuesday or Friday, a job is run that will associate them to the site. Future - HealthStream will be releasing the Onboard Organization Instructor SCORM to allow the same process in 2.

The LMS administratior would have that SCORN package available to them to make an onboarding assignment to pull in the instructor and associate them to your organization. Two: If that instructor is associated to your organization, they link their 7th edition and become associated to that organization and LP. A prerequisite for that process is that the instructor needs to have an association with that organization in 7th edition. From December 31 prior, this method would be used to allow them to be associated to that course.

  3. Register using your institution-assigned or personal email address. Please ensure that you complete the full registration process, including your i address and contact information. You will receive an email from a “no reply” address, to the email you used to register, which includes your NRP ID Number and includes a link for email verification. You are almost done!
