A Partnership for Quality Improvement in Resuscitation
A Partnership for Quality Improvement in Resuscitation
The National League for Nursing (NLN), the premier professional organization for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education, and its partner Laerdal Medical, announce a new partnership to help advance transformation of the standard of resuscitation care for cardiac arrest.
The organizations are committed to supporting Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®) program adoption by nursing programs at higher education institutions to help prepare future nursing professionals to respond to cardiac arrest events competently and confidently — leading to improvement in survival rates.
The partnership manifests the League’s commitment to advance excellence in nursing education to heighten patient safety and health outcomes globally, with the shared lifesaving mission of Laerdal Medical and RQI Partners.
With adoption of the RQI program into nursing education curriculum, at no upfront cost to the institution, the innovative RQI Program technology can play a pivotal life-saving role.
Together, we will help nursing programs prepare their students who enter clinical practice with resuscitation competence and maximize the lifesaving ability of nurses and other healthcare providers.
We’re committed to Transforming Resuscitation for Life
The American Heart Association RQI Program provides resuscitation education and quality improvement designed to transform the response to and outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest. Incorporating RQI curriculum early in the academic journey, empowers learners to be confident and competent to perform high-quality CPR. RQI’s evidence-based, true-adaptive learning program well integrates within nursing and allied health curriculums fostering clinical decision-making aptitude, skills proficiency, and self-efficacy.
With the RQI program in the nursing curriculum, nursing students are prepared to enter into clinical practice with lifesaving verified competence and a strong foundation for lifelong career success.
Verified Competence
True Adaptive TM Learning responds to the needs of each student. Baseline clinical skills are evaluated upfront, assessments and learnings are tailored to the needs of the individual. Detailed clinical skills coaching and refinement and comprehensive analytics optimize student’s learning comprehension.
Boosted Confidence
RQI’s educational principles are grounded educational research and the American Heart Association’s science, utilizing world-class simulation technology from Laerdal Medical. Participants develop the confidence to initiate and perform CPR.
Enriched Practice
Ongoing CPR training and practice is the heart RQI methodology. Low dose, high frequency training is proven to increase knowledge retention and aid the development psychomotor skills necessary to administer high-quality CPR.
Career Success
Nursing and allied health professionals with high-quality CPR training are in demand. Individuals competent in RQI have the clinical skills that matter — to save lives and maximize outcomes.
Compliance
RQI is easily integrated within institutional learning management systems (LMS), assuring consistency among all students, and reduces the administrative burden of student credential verification. Students earn an essential credential for sitting for board examinations and employment.
