Today, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on four outstanding neonatal nursing champions and RQI® for NRP® Super Users whose passion and expertise have transformed newborn care in their communities. From clinical nurse educators to regional specialty trainers and bedside leaders, these nurses have gone above and beyond to implement and sustain best-in-class resuscitation programs. Their dedication doesn’t just ensure compliance—it builds confidence, strengthens teams, and ultimately helps saves lives in the most critical moments of a newborn’s journey.
Each of these Super Users embodies the spirit of continuous improvement. They have navigated complex rollouts, fine-tuned workflows, and fostered collaboration across departments and entire health systems. By relentlessly advocating for realistic training, seamless technology, and ongoing support, they’re elevating standards of care for the tiniest patients and their families.
As we wrap up Neonatal Nurses Week, we are proud to share these incredible nurses and their impact.

Cecily Havener, BSN, RNC-OB, IBCLC
Clinical Nurse Educator in Obstetrics
“Cecily has been indispensable through the implementation phase and general use of RQI for NRP in our region. She spends time making sure assignments are correct leading up to classes, teaches classes, gets people to the station, and will help them at the station as needed! Cecily also helps the departments she supports to monitor ongoing compliance. I could not ask for a better RQI for NRP Super User!”
- Michael Grant, Database and Simulation Specialist, MaineHealth
“Jodi and Elizabeth are always willing to complete in person check-offs for NRP. It means so much that they are consistently willing to support their colleagues and the NRP program.”
- April Hester, Professional Development Specialist, Georgetown Community Hospital

“Sacha went above and beyond to ensure that NRP for RQI works seamlessly throughout the CommonSpirit Mt. Region. Between checking the functionality of carts in our three-state system, sending feedback to RQI and the AAP, collaborating with other healthcare systems, and working with other super users, she strives to create a consistent experience and elevate the realism and importance of the cart, translating to the bedside.”
